4. Return signed rental contract along with payment for rental. (Make sure the social security number on the contract belongs to the parent signing the agreement.)

5. The instrument will be delivered to the school in time for the first class.

-Turn right onto Route 11 (North-One way) and go 2 blocks and take a left onto Wolfe Street.

Our History:

Located in Downtown Historic Harrisonburg, Virginia, we have been locally servicing the local schools and students since 1951.

Willard Dovel began his extensive work with musical instruments in 1946. He was Conn Factory trained along with long time co-worker "Henry" T.W. Mohler. Mr. Dovel branched off of Miles Music in April 1951, when they decided to discontinue sales of all musical instruments.

Willard owned Shen-Valley Band until 1978 when his son Gary Dovel took over the family business. Gary was a NAPBRIT Certified technician and was in Good Standing with the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians. Gary employed Steve Birckhead May 1996, after his retirement from the U.S. Army as Lead Saxophone player, as a full time technician and saxophone specialist. After years of training, Steve went through the steps to become a NAPBRIT certified technician.

After the untimely death of Gary Dovel, July 2007, his son Eric Dovel, and son-in-law Allen Paul have taken over the family business. They have stepped up to the challenge of business ownership and are quickly learning.
